What is Service Design Thinking?
It is a different approach on the service design that is focused on clients and not as much on the organizations which produce these products or services.
We create a design where the most important thing is to turn the expectations into satisfactory experiences.
There are 5 principles:
- User-center: it is focused on the user and their needs
- Co-creative: all the interested parts involved in their design participate
- Sequential: the design process follows a defined sequence
- It contains evidences
- Holistic
How does it work?
It is an interactive process, there are 4 periods:
- Exploration – Discovery
The aim is to identify the real issue that must be solved, always from the consumer perspective
- Creation – Concept design
The basis of this period is co-creation. A prototype of design is created.
- Reflection – We reflect the found ideas and problems
With these results we could modify on time our service design, according to the client’s tastes.
- Implementation – Launch
The last period consists in launching the service. We must review the design process and learn from the mistake we made.
