What is Service Design Thinking?

It is a different approach on the service design that is focused on clients and not as much on the organizations which produce these products or services.

We create a design where the most important thing is to turn the expectations into satisfactory experiences.

There are 5 principles:

  1. User-center: it is focused on the user and their needs
  2. Co-creative: all the interested parts involved in their design participate
  3. Sequential: the design process follows a defined sequence
  4. It contains evidences
  5. Holistic

How does it work?

It is an interactive process, there are 4 periods:

  1. Exploration – Discovery

The aim is to identify the real issue that must be solved, always from the consumer perspective

  1. Creation – Concept design

The basis of this period is co-creation. A prototype of design is created.

  1. Reflection – We reflect the found ideas and problems

With these results we could modify on time our service design, according to the client’s tastes.

  1. Implementation – Launch

The last period consists in launching the service. We must review the design process and learn from the mistake we made.
