Media management: the power of the media

The media are very important for publicising the projects that we do in associations because they generate great visibility, increase credibility and allow the contents to achieve greater reach.
When establishing contact with the media, we must bear in mind that this is a process that takes place in different stages, and in each one of them, we have to consider certain specific questions.
The first stage
The contact stage, is the moment in which we must evaluate the media with which we want to establish an agreement, its scope, and its reputation.
Second stage
Then, we need to evaluate their proposal and come to a mutual agreement, which is transparent and beneficial for both parties.
Third stage
Once this is done, we can save their contact in the database and save the content planning, or the media kit, the roadmap that we must follow for the delivery of the content.
Fourth stage
Finally, in the last stages of the process is when we send the contents and do the clipping, to check that they have been published and keep track of their reach.
We must bear in mind that the media serve as a vehicle to increase our visibility; therefore, it is necessary to take care of them and establish a close and attentive relationship with them.
