Case story: IACDS Annual Meeting 2016
The 2016 Annual Meeting of the International Association of Concrete Drillers and Sawers, IACDS, which is managed by RABUSO, was held on April 16-17, in Munich, Germany.
IACDS is the organization that represents the associations, companies and professionals of the concrete drilling and sawing industry around the globe.
The IACDS has a strong focus on providing an international union with the cooperation of trade Associations.
The meeting began on Friday 15th with a networking activity at the booth of the German Association (Fachverband Betonbohren und -sägen Deutchland e.V.), in the frame of the trade fair BAUMA 2016.
During this time, the president of the German Association, Mr. Thomas Springer, received a commemorative plate as a recognition of the work in the concrete cutting industry sector of Mr. Otto Alte-Teigeler, past president of IACDS, who passed away recently.
The plate was delivered by the president of IACDS, Ms. Julie White.
Next day, on Saturday 16th, all the participants in the meeting enjoyed a fantastic confraternization dinner at Hofer – Der Stadtwirt Restaurant, which meant a perfect moment to see again the colleagues of the association.
On Saturday 17th, took place the General Assembly of the association, which included conference sessions, after a welcome by the president of IACDS, Ms. Julie White.
Firstly, Mr. Martin Goedickemeier, from HILTI, presented a topic called “Temporary fixation of Diamond Cutting and Coring Equipment – Recommendations and load considerations during operation”.
And secondly, “Understanding the business models of the industry” was the theme selected by Mr. Donat Fritsch, from TYROLIT, to share with the attendants.
In addition, a round table took place, where there was a high participation of the professionals and interesting subjects were discussed.
After the lunch, the ceremony of the Diamond Award 2016 was held, which was also orhanized by RABUSO, with the collaboration of the members.
The company DIAMANTBOHR GROUP, from Switzerland, was the winner thanks to its job “Pendulum drilling for monitoring the Emosson dam”.
The company THAYR, from Spain, with its job “Demolition of Ro-Ro ramp at the Mahon’s harbor”, and the company DIATEC, from Germany, for its job “Cutting of bored piles Ø 1300 mm, 15 m under the water level”, were the shortlisted.
